Mental Map
of Early Modern Trade

Students learn how eastern hemispheric trade widened with European integration into Asian dominated trade networks, how characteristics of early modern trade emerged, and how trade became global with the addition of the Americas to the world economy.

Introduction

Picture
Students will learn about the trade routes and trade goods that were a part of regional economic systems in 1450 around the world, read about the role of Asia in world trade, and complete the map to show that trade became truly global during the early modern period.


Task

1st: You will be assigned to a group of 3 students
2nd: You will learn about each trade region
3rd: You will create a collaborative mental map


Process

Explore the resources for each of the trade regions.
Take notes on the capture sheet.
Use the information gathered to create a collaborative mental map using Popplet.com  with your group.
     >One student in group is responsible for setting up the account and inviting the other members to join the Popplet where you are creating your mental map.
For each of the 6 trade regions, include 1 map, 2 trade images, and 3 details to describe trade in that region.
